Howdy All!
MAPS and the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority collaborated at the food bank and assembled 360 produce bags!! We very much enjoyed volunteering with the Alphas; they truly embody what it means to offer friendship to all and to serve those in need. We hope to work with the Alphas again soon! Until next time, Helen

Hey MAPS!
Shout out to the A&M medical students for inviting MAPS members to teach Basic Life Support (BLS)/2-step CPR to Post Oak Mall shoppers. If you missed the event and are curious: Step 1: Call 911 Step 2: Chest compressions
See y'all later, Helen Howdy and Happy Thanksgiving MAPS!
We are so thankful for our members and all that you guys put into MAPS. Thanks to everyone who came out to the potluck and enjoyed a night of games and good food :) See y'all later, Helen Howdy MAPS!
Thank you to all who volunteered for the bone marrow registry drive and/or signed up to be a bone marrow donor. MAPS has never hosted something like this before, so big shout out to our President, Sydney Quintana, for setting this up! DKMS is an international non-profit organization that is fighting against blood cancers. By increasing the number of donors in the registry, patients have a higher chance of matching with someone. Although the chance of actually matching with a patient is less than 1%, you would be saving a life on the off chance that you do match. To find out more and to sign up to become a donor, visit www.dkms.org/en. We will be hosting this week-long event again in the spring, so come out to volunteer with us! Until next time, Helen Brrr!
Who doesn't love getting frostbite? For many of us, this was an exciting learning experience and for others it was like riding a bike. Nevertheless, I never tire of seeing MAPS members supporting and assisting each other on and off the ice! Stay warm everyone, Helen Hey everyone!
Welcome back to the MAPS blog! This is just a quick mentor appreciation post; we love seeing members meet up with their medical student mentors. I hope that you are getting the most out of the mentor/mentee relationship! Helen |
