TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY
Hello everyone! Hopefully your first couple of days went by seemingly smooth, as well as the rest of the semester. I can't wait to meet each and every one of you at our in person events. Our organization targets minority students with goals of pursuing medicine, but we welcome everyone who has an interest in our mission! Come see us at the MSC Open House from 1 PM to 5 PM at the Simpson Drill Field. Make sure to follow us on our platforms so you can keep up with the events that we have!
Looking forward to this semester! Sneha

Congratulations on finishing finals and making it through another semester here at A&M. Thank you guys for coming out to all our events this semester. Continue to check the GroupMe for updates over winter break. We look forward to seeing you all next semester. Stay safe and Happy Holidays!
Feeling Jolly, Danielle This evening we had the opportunity to hold a virtual yoga session with our members! Everyone was feeling very in tune with their inner self and learned some new yoga poses to help destress from school. A huge shoutout to our socials chair, Damilola, for making this happen. I can't speak for everyone else, but I feel like a whole new person after the poses we did tonight!
Namaste, Danielle Howdy!
On September 25th, we had our very first in-person social (with masks and 6 ft apart of course). We had the pleasure of our fantastic socials chair, Damilola Agunbiade, be able to teach us how to make origami maple leaves and butterflies! Even though they look fairly simple, folding paper is a technique that apparently I do not have. A 10 minute video took us an hour to complete. Even though we might not be origami experts, we all had a very fun time getting to know each other and having a beautiful sunset view while on Simpson Drill Field. I absolutely cannot wait for our next social (October 2nd) and can't wait to see you all tonight at our next general body meeting! Until Next Time, Danielle Howdy Everyone!
This is my first official post of the school year and I am just so excited for this upcoming school year. Even though all our events have to occur via Zoom or a safe 6 ft. apart, we are excited that you chose to be apart of this amazing organization and hope you stick with us for the rest of your time here at A&M! For our meeting today, we had our A&M Kaplan Ambassador come speak with us about the different courses they offered and how to get the best results with studying their material. Dr. Kraft then discussed with us her past and why she is our sponsor. She, as long with your fellow Mappers, then began giving tips to people with how they can succeed in their classes and life in general. MAPS is geared towards helping students reach their goal in medicine, but we also want our members to know we care about them and want them to feel welcome with us! We hope to see you at our next event: September 18- Netflix Watch Party 6-8pm! From a safe distance, Danielle Hey Everyone,
I hope everyone is safe and healthy during this unprecedented time. We are devastated that we are unable to finish out the year with our MAPS members, but we are thinking about you everyday and can't wait until we see you all again. In the meantime, I would like to shine the spotlight on our "Member of the Month"s from this past year: Top left: Kem Nwadei (September 2019) Top right: Chioma Mordi (October 2019) Bottom left: Daniel Green-Moore (November 2019) Bottom right: Damilola Agunbiade (February 2020) Until next time, Helen |
